After more than three decades of dedicated ownership, Curtis and Rosemarie Moggey proudly announce the transition of Panda Tire & Auto to the next generation of family leadership. Beginning in 2026, the business will be owned and operated by Lance, Lorrie, and Crystal Moggey, marking an exciting new chapter in the company’s long and trusted history.

The Firestone store has been a fixture in downtown Moose Jaw since 1955, serving generations of local drivers. In 1989, Curtis and Rosemarie took the reins, later incorporated as Panda Tire & Auto in 1992. Under their leadership, the business has grown into a respected and community-minded automotive service center known for its integrity, quality workmanship, and customer care.

Now, the torch is being passed to the second generation—Lance and Lorrie, twins, along with their younger sister Crystal. Each has played a vital role in the company for many years, learning the business from the ground up and helping it thrive through changing times in the automotive industry.

“This company has always been about family, faith, and service,” say Curtis and Rosemarie. “Our wish is that this next generation will be blessed, as we have been, to serve Moose Jaw and area residents and businesses well into the future—perhaps even into the third generation.”

As Lance, Lorrie, and Crystal step forward, Panda Tire & Auto remains committed to the same core values that have guided it for decades—honesty, reliability, and care for customers like family. The Moggey family extends heartfelt thanks to their loyal customers, staff, and community for their ongoing support and looks forward to continuing to keep Moose Jaw moving safely for many years to come.

As summer approaches, many people look forward to hitting the road and embarking on exciting adventures. However, with the arrival of the summer season often comes an increase in gas prices, which can put a strain on your wallet. But fear not, as there are several ways to save on summer gas prices and make your journeys more affordable. Here are some tips to help you keep your fuel costs in check.

  1. Plan your trips efficiently: Before setting off on a summer road trip, plan your route carefully. Look for the most direct and efficient paths to your destination to minimize the distance traveled. Consider using navigation apps or websites that can help you find the shortest routes with the least traffic. By reducing the total mileage, you’ll also be reducing your fuel consumption.
  2. Maintain your vehicle: Regular vehicle maintenance can significantly impact fuel efficiency. Ensure that your tires are properly inflated, as underinflated tires increase rolling resistance and reduce gas mileage. Keep up with oil changes, air filter replacements, and other routine maintenance tasks to ensure your vehicle is running efficiently and consuming less fuel.
  3. Drive smartly: Your driving habits play a crucial role in fuel consumption. Avoid aggressive driving, rapid acceleration, and hard braking, as these actions can significantly decrease your gas mileage. Instead, maintain a steady speed, use cruise control when appropriate, and anticipate traffic patterns to drive more smoothly. By adopting these habits, you’ll maximize your fuel efficiency and save on gas.
  4. Carpool or use public transportation: If possible, consider carpooling with friends, family, or coworkers who are headed in the same direction. Sharing the ride not only saves money on fuel but also reduces traffic congestion and lowers your carbon footprint. Additionally, explore public transportation options in your area, such as buses, which can be a cost-effective alternative for certain trips.
  5. Embrace fuel-saving technologies: Take advantage of the latest advancements in fuel-saving technologies. If you’re in the market for a new vehicle, consider models with hybrid or electric engines, which offer better fuel efficiency. For those who already own a car, use cruise control, eco-driving modes, and other features designed to optimize fuel consumption.

By implementing these tips, you can enjoy your summer adventures without breaking the bank on gas prices. Remember, even small changes in driving habits and trip planning can make a significant difference in your fuel efficiency, helping you save money and reduce your environmental impact.
